🎧 Songs of the Week #4 : Let me in your bones
📅October 8-14, 2022: Featuring CAZZETTE (Prince Fox Remix), Pedestrian Tactics, Crooked Colours (Chiefs Remix), ARTY feat. Angel Taylor (Slander Remix), and Fytch & Captain Crunch feat. Carmen Forbes
Welcome to week #4 of the Steel Orca Songs of the Week.

Short week this week, or seems so for us Canadians anyways. Monday was a holiday (Canadian Thanksgiving, but like I said in a previous post we just call it Thanksgiving). As a result it’s going to be a bit of a short post for this week (I was verbose last week).
This past Monday was officially Thanksgiving, but most people I know don’t actually have their family dinner on that day because of the hassle of cleaning everything up the day before they go back to work the next day. I assume that wanting to have a couple of glasses of wine with dinner and not having to wake up early the next morning has something to do with it as well. If you’re one of those insane people that make/host (or even attend, for that matter) a fancy Thanksgiving dinner the last day of a long weekend let me know in the comments.
With that out of the way, here are the songs for the week of October 14th, 2022.
Playlist Breakdown
I’m going to have to be honest, this one came together quickly on Tuesday basically just out of necessity - I knew I wasn’t going to have a lot of time to listen to music and work this out this week. As it stands, I’m writing this on the day that the post should be coming out, as opposed to the day before, so I’m already off my regular schedule. C’est la vie. Ideally this would come out first thing Friday morning for people to listen to while working, but I’ll try for that for next week.
The one thing I did have to do is a bit of a late pivot on this playlist. The original first song was the Bronze Whale (I didn’t steal your name I swear) remix of Feel the Fire by pluko & pronouncedyea. This was pulled from Spotify at the last minute, so check out the song via YouTube. I guess that’s a thing that may happen given that some of these songs have been out for a while.
Due to overall time constraints, my commentary on the music this week will be brief. The playlist itself is actually pretty brief too. Suffice to say that all of the songs below would be considered certified Steel Orca classics™️. Some of them have been out for a while; some are slightly newer. I’m likely not going to be considered edgy or groundbreaking for liking these songs.
With that said, enjoy - I think, as the kids say, these would be considered bangers 💥🤯💥, but let me know in the comments.
CAZZETTE (featuring Terri B!) - Blind Heart (Prince Fox Remix)
I probably started listening to this song a couple of years ago via Soundcloud (prior to my Spotify days). Based on this playlist, I obviously like big banger tracks with strong women vocalists. Terri B! (née Terri Bjerre) really kills the vocals on this track. Prince Fox seems like a guy I would aspire to dress like, but couldn’t actually pull off emulating.
Pedestrian Tactics - Nerds Trying to Dance
This song was a suggestion to me from a buddy. We were listening to music and drinking beer at his house a few months ago and he blasted this (he has better taste in music than I do).
The irony is that I was going to include another song from another artist and I bumped it for this song. Turns out that other song from that other artist is actually the other name of this same guy. Makes sense. I’m not going to say which song that is as I’m probably going to include that on a future songs of the week in the future.
Crooked Colours - In Your Bones (Chiefs Remix)
Ok for real though can someone please tell me who Chiefs is or where they’re from? I looked on the internet and couldn’t find anything at all. This song is the jam.
ARTY (featuring Angel Taylor) - Up All Night (Slander Remix)
Ok so the story on this song is that I started running (to lose weight) around November 2019 prior to the pandemic, and running sort of became my thing over the past couple years.
So this song was basically the theme of my runs. I have a big hill by my house that I had to ascend on the way back to my house every morning. Every morning (or afternoon, whatever) that I would get to the bottom of that hill I would literally change the song to this track prior to ascending the hill. I love this song.
Angel Taylor (like Terri B!) above, absolutely destroys the vocals on this track. I looked her up and apparently she had to take a social media break due to mental health issues at some point. I basically did the same thing, so I hella relate. Best wishes to her as she is a crazy talent - hopefully she comes back at some point.
Again, not much to say about this song that isn’t self-evident.🤯
Best Song of the Week 🎵
Fytch and Captain Crunch (featuring Carmen Forbes)- Raindrops (Full Vocal Mix)
Shockingly, there is an official music video for this song on YouTube. It’s actually really great and fits the song well. Might be worth watching that first.
To be clear here, this is the full vocal mix of this song. There’s another shortened version where the vocals are a bit more chopped up. I would definitely recommend this version.
Carmen Forbes (again, fitting the theme of this week’s post) slays the vocals on this song. I love discovering these singers as a result of these posts. The last verse prior to the last drop is absolutely disgusting🤢.
If you’re falling in love seems like from her Instagram she’s married, so cool your jets guys.
Anyway, this song is the best song of the week. To be clear, it’s probably one of my songs of the year (from any year) as I love this song. I think it’s 10 years old at this point, so I’m not winning any points for being hip. I’ll go back to being hippy and edgy next week (I swear), hopefully with better writing 😛.
That’s it for this week from me.✔️👋
